Description:

A really good example of a 19th century carved wood English wall mirror , c.1860. This mirror has undergone professional restoration to clean off a layer of gold paint and dirt. Under this outer layer we found original oil gilt finish which has cleaned to a good overall matt gold finish. On the crest and laurel leaf decoration there are water gilded highlights which 'lifts' the oil gilt finish. The mirror is in fine condition with original glass and panelled oak back. The glass has minor speckling at the bottom.
