Description:

Fine example of a late Victorian triple plate overmantle mirror , c.1890. This mirror is very attractive with neo classical griffins across the freize with central ' Adams' style urn over a shaped shelf. This antique mirror has been professionally restored by a master gilder and has been finished in part gilt or 'parcel gilt' with gilded highlights combined with a cream painted base. This mirror was originally parcel gilt and has been restored as per original using real gold leaf which has been burnished giving a two tone finish. The detail in the decortaion is very crisp.

The glass is bevelled and each plate is original.
