Description:

A nice example of an English gilded overmantle mirror with original glass, c.1880. The design of the mirror is in the Adams style with ribbon and swag decoration and central urn on the the top. This mirror has good 'square proportions' and would work well as a feature mirror in a period home either as am overmantle or as a hall mirror over a piece of furniture. The glass is original and in good order. The frame has been painted and is being restored so there will be a real gold leaf finish . Our restorer will burnish the gold leaf so ensuring a two tone finish. Email with any enquiries. Currently being restored so frame will be fully repaired and re-gilded where neccessary using real gold leaf
