Description:

A super example of a Victorian classical triple plate mirror with great proportions and real depth of detail in the freize, c.1880. The frame has been superbly restored using traditional methods and applied gold leaf. The scene across the top has lots of fine detail and is suppoted by pierced corithian columns. The glass is origibnal and I have photographed an area of ' foxing' in the central part of the glass at the bottom. The overall dimensions of the mirror are unusual as it is much taller than most giving a good deal of ' glass' for a mirror of this width.
