Description:
This antique gasolier is a very rare five arm light fitting of
very neat proportions and great design. It is very high quality with lozenge
registrations on the back of each shield going round the central band. The
gothic design is continued with cast heraldic faces set into the base and
standing soldiers around the central column. It is a very unique antique lamp and is
fully refurbished and wired for modern electric. The shades are a frosted white
design with flared top and raised ' bobbles' along the sides. The shades are
fairly recent in date. The kite marks help date this fitting accurately as they
were only used until 1883. it is too difficult to read the year date but I would
estimate a year c. 1870.
