A very unusuaal and duet stand in original oxidised copper finish by WAS BENSON, c.1900. This is a very stylish example of Benson's work with great use of design to give a very attractive and functional piece of furniture. WAS BENSON was a highly skilled designer and is very collectable with plenty of examples of arts and crafts lights and also other metallic home furnishings. We have a copy of an original Benson catalogue which features this stand and can provide a copy with the purchase. It is rare to find a piece intact with origianl light switches and light troughs. We have had the stand re-wired using modern silk flex so each manuscript stand lights up. The whole is adjustable in height and each stand swivels so players could stand opposite eachother or adjacently.
